ostara (2022)

Ostara embodies the themes of renewal, transformation, and the delicate balance between life and death. At its center, two intersecting raven skulls form a striking focal point, symbolizing mortality and the ever-present cycle of endings and beginnings. Surrounding the skulls, vibrant moth wings evoke metamorphosis and the pursuit of light, while clusters of crystals shimmer with the raw beauty of nature’s alchemy.

Hannah’s use of surrealist composition creates a dreamlike harmony, where elements of decay and growth coexist. The piece draws inspiration from the ancient festival of Ostara, a celebration of the spring equinox, where the darkness of winter gives way to the promise of rebirth. Ostara invites viewers to reflect on their own cycles of transformation, urging them to embrace the ephemeral beauty found in both life’s fragility and its resilience.
