11-eleven (2022)

11-Eleven is a meditation on desire, power, and the surreal nature of time and transformation. Set against the grand architecture of a Gothic cathedral, the piece juxtaposes the sacred with the sensual. The central figure, a tattooed woman posed in an almost devotional stance, commands the space with a quiet defiance, her gaze both inviting and challenging.

The illusion paper forming hypnotic patterns across the ceiling draws the viewer’s eye upward, signaling Hannah’s call to pay attention. These geometric swirls evoke a sense of disorientation, reminiscent of the endless loops of thought that accompany longing, introspection, and self-discovery.

In 11-Eleven, time feels fluid, both an arbitrary construct and a powerful force. The repeated number, often associated with synchronicity and spiritual awakening, hints at the fleeting moments where clarity pierces through chaos. Hannah’s surrealist influences shine through in this piece, blending dreamlike elements with sharp social commentary on the complexities of identity, desire, and autonomy.

11-Eleven invites viewers to confront their own perceptions of time, power, and self-expression, urging them to find meaning in moments that feel both ephemeral and eternal.
